We are pleased to announce that as a celebration of the 45th Anniversary of Wishbone Ash's seminal 1972 album "Argus", Martin Turner's "The Beauty of Chaos" UK tour of April/May 2017 will feature a performance of "Argus" in its entirety as well as other Wishbone Ash classics plus selected tracks from "Written in the Stars".

We are also pleased to announce that following on from "The Beauty of Chaos" Spring tour, which is performed in the usual electric format, there will be a short series of intimate "Unplugged" performances - acoustic shows in Bath, Uttoxeter and Hornchurch. Don't miss this rare chance to hear classic Wishbone Ash music and more performed in an intimate acoustic style together with anecdotes from Martin Turner about the inspiration behind the songs, etc.

I first met Greg when he was playing with the Gods back in 1967/68. We both appeared on the Melody Maker Poll Awards show at the Oval, London in 1972 and then we played shows together in the USA in the 70s when ELP were huge. We also appeared on the High Voltage festival together in 2010.

ELP were a larger than life band. Although my musical interests were more guitar based, I did get to know Greg later at gatherings with my best friend Dennis Taylor. Dennis was married to Astrid and her sister Regina was married to Greg, so we would hang out and eat drink and chat at family get togethers.

Greg was a talented bass player, singer and writer and I loved the album he did with King Crimson in 1969. It was a pleasure to spend time with him and his family to whom I send my love and best wishes for the future after what has been a long and difficult time for them all.

Martin Turner and Steve Harris (Iron Maiden bassist) pictured at Planet Rockstock soundcheck today.

Iron Maiden and Steve Harris in particular were hugely influenced by Wishbone Ash. Today Steve's band British Lion appears on the same bill as Martin at the sold-out Planet Rockstock event.

Steve Harris watched Martin's band's soundcheck with the keen interest and respect of a true fan. Thank you Steve, you're a gent.

We are pleased to announce that Martin Turner and his band will be performing the entire "Argus" album at their appearance at the sold out Planet Rockstock festival on 3 December 2016.

The band will also include a full performance of "Argus" at the Y Theatre, Leicester on 10 December 2016. This show is the band's final show of 2016 as well as the last UK show of the "Written in the Stars" tour and promises to be a memorable event.

"The Beauty of Chaos - Live at the Citadel" is planned for release on DVD/CD during Spring 2017. Filmed and recorded at the Citadel, St.Helens earlier in 2016, this will include a performance of the complete "Written in the Stars" album as well as many Wishbone Ash classics.

Martin and band will be touring to promote the DVD in 2017, with dates for "The Beauty of Chaos" tour already being announced from April 2017 onwards. See our live dates page for listings.

Martin Turner and his band commence the Autumn UK leg of their "Written in the Stars" tour at the Robin 2, Bilston on 2 November 2016. The 19 date tour will see Martin, Danny, Tim and Misha playing classic tracks from the Wishbone Ash back catalogue as well as selected tracks from "Written in the Stars".

The UK leg is followed by four shows in Holland during January 2017. These shows mark the end of the "Written in the Stars" tour and will include a special performance of the entire "Argus" album as part of the set, commemorating the 45th anniversary of the release of Wishbone Ash's seminal 1972 album.

We are pleased to announce that Snapper Music is in the process of compiling “Wishbone Ash: The Vintage Years” – a definitive 32-disc CD boxed set spanning the period 1970-1991. This promises to be the deepest anthology of Wishbone Ash’s classic period to date and is being compiled with full co-operation and involvement of all key members of the definitive classic line-ups – Martin Turner, Steve Upton, Ted Turner, Andy Powell and Laurie Wisefield.

The content will dig deep into the archives and already many live and studio multi-track masters have been uncovered, largely from Martin Turner’s personal archive. Snapper has proven expertise producing such releases with award-winning titles to their credit and this deluxe set promises to be beautifully packaged, presented complete with a lavish coffee table book containing rare photos, memorabilia and other historic material.

This project is in the early stages of compilation as we write and so no definite release date has been confirmed. We will keep you posted as the project gains momentum….”

Thanks to all who came out tonight for our DVD shoot in St. Helens. Great atmosphere - the crowd was totally behind us from the off and kept it up for an extended 160 minute set. We couldn't have done it without you...an amazing evening!

We are delighted to announce that Martin Turner and his band – Danny Willson, Tim Brown and Misha Nikolic - will be filming and recording a live DVD/CD during the upcoming “Written in the Stars” Spring Tour for release later in 2016.

Filming and recording will take place at St Helens Citadel on Friday 26 February 2016.

We hope as many of the band’s loyal supporters as possible will be able to join us on this special occasion, ensuring that the band are met with the most enthusiastic reception possible as they perform for the gathered audience and the camera crew.

For this occasion, the band will be playing a specially extended set that will open with the award-winning “Written in the Stars” album being performed in its entirety, followed by a selection of Wishbone Ash classics spanning the Martin Turner years.

“We’ve been playing selected tracks from “Written in the Stars” for some time now, even prior to the album’s release, “ says Martin Turner. “We have been truly overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the new material since the album’s release and were already planning to play a more varied selection on the upcoming dates. However, while trying out all songs from the album during rehearsals, it soon became apparent not only how well all the songs lend themselves to live performance but also how the full album works as a “piece” – in much the same way as “Argus” did.  Wouldn’t it be a shame then if we did not capture “Written in the Stars – Live” for posterity?”

We urge fans to purchase tickets for this show IN ADVANCE – the band’s last appearance at this great venue was packed and the addition of “Written in the Stars” live together with an extended set and the presence of a camera crew will no doubt create additional demand as well a fantastic atmosphere on the night.
