"After years of performing Wishbone Ash music from the "olden days", as my kids call it, working with my band on new music was a revelation. There were obviously similarities with the classic Wishbone Ash music as anything I've been involved in either within or outside of Wishbone Ash has always contained a lot of melodic content in terms of guitars, vocals, bass lines, etc. I was pleasantly surprised at just how creative the chaps in my band were, once everyone got together and started bouncing ideas around. They stimulated and inspired each other throughout the process of putting the album together. It was a real positive experience.
Although the album is not strictly a "concept" album, there was a loose theme based around "Written in the Stars", which contemplates the universe and the wonder of the planet on which we live. I became quite fascinated with astronomy in the period leading up to the writing of this album and songs like "Interstellar Rockstar", "The Lonely Star" and "The Beauty of Chaos" fit that concept perfectly, but some of the other songs are off on another tangent."
